More about the Green Wheel project
Starting in 2009, the Green Wheel network will unfold over a number of years but work on improving and creating some sections will start quickly. Some of the main features will be:
- Links to nearby villages
- Experiencing Bedford’s wildlife and history
- New places to play and relax
- Signage, seating, information points and public art
- Improvements to the river corridor from Kempston Mill to Castle Mill
- Safe access to Priory Country Park, the proposed Bedford River Valley Park and future country parks at Biddenham and Brickhill
The Green Wheel Partners are:
Bedford Borough Council, Bedfordshire County Council, Sustrans, Bedfordshire Rural Communities Charity, Marston Vale Trust, British Trust for Conservation Volunteers (BTVC), Cycling Campaign for North Beds, Bedfordshire PCT.
